Tool #1 of 11--Getting Started

Blogs can be fun and can be used to deliver lessons, engage students, and showcase classroom activities; while at the same time exposing students to the different technologies they can expect to encounter on the internet. In addition, as students become more proficient in using technology to learn academic content to the point of creating technology-based projects, we contribute to a valuable life skill. A skill that can move them beyond the gaming culture into a future marketable skill.

As with all new teaching tools, it takes practice, thought, creativity, and time. And, then again, two or more minds working together--collaboration--helps, too. To teach something well, we must be familiar with and have as much knowledge as possible. Even so, exploring and learning together with our students can be just as fun and exciting. And so, the blogging adventure begins.
